In an age of technology, security online has not been more important.
For the past few years, people’s Instagram accounts have been hacked despite awareness of protecting one’s identity online.
But fret not people, as Instagram is testing out ways that will make Instagram-users’ experience on reclaiming their hacked-accounts, a less stressful one.
Today we're starting to test a better experience for people whose accounts have been hacked. We've heard from the community we weren't doing enough here, so I'm excited about these improvements: https://t.co/uIBJBzRILE

The complaints have been coming from many cases of users who have fallen victim to hackers, and the lack of customer service-responsiveness.
Instagram will also be trying to provide an easier way for users to reclaim their account if they have been hacked!
One of the features that will be worked on is securing your username for a period of time after any account changes made, hence, preventing anyone from claiming your account if the person has been hacked.
“With this feature, we give the account holder the security of knowing that their username will not be available to be claimed by someone else for a period of time following any changes,” the spokesperson added.
“We know that losing access to your account can be a distressing experience. We have measures in place to stop accounts from being hacked in the first place, as well as measures to help people recover their accounts. But we heard from the community that these measures aren’t enough, and people are struggling to regain access to their accounts,” an Instagram spokesperson said, VICE.COM
The feature has been made available for Android-users, and they are currently working on making it available for iOS-users too!
