Growing up, has it ever crossed your mind what it would be like to live in a futuristic world with robots and flying cars?
Well, the idea of a flying car has been around for quite some time now and it seems like not all hope is lost after all as Malaysia is in the works of making flying cars a reality!
According to the Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof, a prototype of the car already exists and is set to be unveiled to the public this year, New Strait Times report.
He was quoted saying, “This year is a realistic target because we have the technology already. It is all about speed of implementation.”
The minister stated that to invest in the prototype fully driven by local technology would cost just over RM 1 million to build, although the private sector has a say in whether or not they want to make this long-anticipated national project a fail or success.
Mohd Redzuan also said the flying car is able to fly at low altitudes at a reasonable speed.
The project is reportedly part of the government’s aim to make Malaysia a producing nation, which is why the country’s capabilities in the aerospace, drone, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and automotive sectors will all be utilized.
What are your thoughts on this? Are you excited to see what the prototype can do and it looks like?
