China-based beverage and dessert chain Mixue Ice Cream & Tea has officially launched its first outlets in the United States, marking a major step in the brand’s global expansion strategy.
The company opened its initial U.S. store on December 19, 2025, on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, introducing local consumers to its signature ice creams, teas, fruit drinks and coffee at highly competitive prices.
In the days following the Los Angeles debut, the brand expanded its presence with additional outlets in New York City, aiming to bring its affordable menu to one of America’s major urban centers.
At its Los Angeles location, Mixue’s core offerings include soft-serve ice cream starting around $1.19, iced lemonades at $1.99, lattes around $2.99, and bubble teas from $3.99, with most items staying well under $5 — a positioning that could undercut many established U.S. players.
Mixue’s arrival in the U.S. comes after years of rapid international growth. The brand already operates more than 53,000 stores worldwide, a footprint that surpasses many well-known global chains including Starbucks and McDonald’s in total outlet count.
While most of its locations are concentrated across China and Southeast Asia, the American launch represents a key moment in Mixue’s strategy to tap into the U.S. beverage and dessert market — particularly among younger consumers and urban foodies looking for affordable options.
Industry observers note that Mixue’s ultra-value pricing and wide menu range — from classic soft serve to customizable milk teas and refreshing fruit beverages — could position it as a disruptive competitor to both specialized bubble tea brands and mainstream chains in North America.
As the brand begins to build its American footprint, it plans to steadily expand across more cities while maintaining its signature mix of affordability, variety and high-volume outlets.
