Off-White x IKEA collaboration was announced at an IKEA event last June, where Virgil Abloh, the founder and creative director of Off-White, unveiled a redesigned infamous IKEA FRAKTA bag with “Sculpture” on the side.
A prototype rug that has paisley print and “KEEP OFF” on it was teased at the event as well. There will also be a large red rug with “BLUE” on the center of it and the Off-White text on the bottom right corner. It’s always great to buy a nice rug to finish the room off (see these UK rugs as a great example of what to look for) as they add so much for such a small cost.
There will be other products as well – like light fixtures, furniture and more.
Labelled as a “non-clothing” and more-affordable-for-millennials project by Off-White, the main goal of the collection was to provide millennials with ‘solutions for living based on the constraints of space.’ Having an architecture background and seeing that being incorporated into his previous projects, Virgil has caused a stir in the fashion and furniture world with this collaboration.
The collection is set to drop in 2019 and we hope that it’ll also be available at IKEA Malaysia!
