Did you know that there is in fact a RM600 banknote? It’s true, and it is news for us too!
The banknote which is now the largest banknote in the world has been certified at the ‘ World Largest Legal Tender Banknote’ by the Guiness World Record website in 2017.
The said bank note was issued by Bank Negara in 2017 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the federation of Malaya Independence agreement. According to Rojak Daily, the banknote is sized at a great 814cm, with a 22cm x 37cm measurement! How crazy is that?
But this is no ordinary banknote, it is printed with a mixture of polymer and paper substrate which offers higher security features and a longer life span compared to regular bank notes.
And yes, you can actually use this banknote as one of the notes you spend on a daily basis, I doubt this huge note could fit in your wallet!
According to Rojak Daily, The theme of the banknote was themed after “Raja Payung Kedaulatan Negara“. On the front of the note you’ll find 15 Yang di-pertuan Agong who have resigned from 1957 till 2017 encircling the royal throne.
There were only 6,000 thousand pieces made, and was sold at an amount go RM1,700 each. Looks like this could be worth a lot in the future!
