Hot, Super, and More as SEVENTEEN Lights Up the 2024 Lollapalooza Berlin Stage
On September 8, SEVENTEEN made history by being the first K-pop act to headline Lollapalooza Berlin. Additionally, singer Jeonghan’s historic performance marked his final one before he is compelled to serve in the military.
The 13-piece boy band became the festival’s 2024 headliners today after topping the Main Stage South stage and joining bands like Sam Smith, Martin Garrix, Burna Boy, OneRepublic, and The Chainsmokers. During the set, the ensemble played with 12 members; however, singer Jun had earlier stated that he would not be performing because of scheduling issues with a Chinese acting project. For the event, a live backing band joined them.
Prior to his headline slot at Lollapalooza Berlin, vocalist Joshua told NME, “It’s an honour I never expected.” “We’ve only heard about Lolla Berlin in the media; I never thought we’d get to play there.”
He went on to mention the group’s June debut in the UK, when they became the first K-pop artist to ever perform at Glastonbury Festival. “Playing Glastonbury was already surreal, given how performing or meeting fans in Europe seemed almost impossible since the pandemic,” Joshua remarked.
Clap, Maestro, HOT, SOS, Headliner, Together, and God Of Music were performed by SEVENTEEN after they had the entire audience doing the “eongdeongi pang-pang.” Aju Nice concluded the group’s performance. Following tradition, the artists sang the song for their fans a few times before bidding the enthusiastic audience farewell.
We are really proud of SEVENTEEN’s achievements this year. They really nailed the performance and WE love it! What other artists have you seen performed at the Lollapalooza?
