South Korean singer-actress Lee Ji-eun, who performs as IU on stage, made her debut in 2008. Her 2010 single ‘Good Day’ went viral due to her amazing vocals, earning her the nickname “Nation’s Little Sister” 2 years after her debut.
The last time she has visited Malaysia for a performance was on December 21, 2019. Five years later, IU once again performed for two nights as part of her 2024 IU H.E.R. World Tour Concert on 8th and 9th of June, at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil in Kuala Lumpur.
IU’s fans, which are known as UAENA, were so excited that the singer was back to Malaysia for her world tour. As expected, she had sold out all her concert tickets during the ticketing day. According to her agency, EDAM Entertainment, they announced that all tickets for the 2-day concert in Kuala Lumpur which took place at noon on the 26th of March have been sold out.
Surprisingly, IU was spotted on speaking Malay throughout the 2 days concert. She had said, “Saya sayang korang,” “Saya keluar sekali lagi,” “Gempak giler,” “Kuaena mantap,” and many more Malay phrases. These had made the crowd goes wild and many fans have uploaded videos of her speaking Malay on TikTok. Some fans also commented under the videos, saying that IU is cute when she’s speaking Malay.

IU’s mom had also prepared gifts for everyone who have attended the concert, which is a tin consists of a badge pin, a keychain, and two photocards. Her mom had previously prepared gifts for fans who had attended IU’s concert in Seoul, Yokohama, Taipei, 6 cities in North America (Newark, Atlanta, Washington D.C., Rosemont, Oakland, Los Angeles), Jakarta, and Singapore.

IU ended her day 1 concert by saying “Jumpa lagi ya. Ini ialah IU anda setakat ini.” As for day 2, she said “UAENA saranghaeyo” means “I love you UAENA” in English. Clearly, everyone who had attended her concert had a good time.
