The notoriously offensive chef has occasionally let out that he has a heart.
Gordon Ramsay has officially opened up the Gordon Ramsay Bar and Grill in Malaysia this past Saturday on the 18th of June. The Gordon Ramsay Bar and Grill that opened in Malaysia is the first of his Bar and Grill restaurants to open up in a location outside of London. The anticipation of the restaurant opening up had been building up since the announcement of it’s opening, and Malaysians flocked to make reservations. The current earliest available reservations for the restaurant are for October. So what’s all of the hype about Gordon Ramsay about? He’s a Michelin star chef who has received 16 Michelin stars over the course of his career, making him the 6th best Michelin star chef in the world. But surprisingly enough, rather than being known for his major accomplishments in the culinary world, most of us know Gordon Ramsay for being an extremely offensive chef with a quick temper, who insults others on television. But despite this reputation, there have been times where he occasionally reveals that he might just have a heart.
Let’s take a look back at times that Gordon Ramsay was actually a pretty nice guy:
1. When he refused to leave until he made a Masterchef Junior contest laugh
Competing in a culinary competition can be incredibly stressful and comes with a whirlwind of emotions. Going through that whilst being a child must be even worse. Luckily for this one contestant, Ramsay was incredibly considerate, and refused to leave the crying contestant until she laughed.
2. When he reassured a blind Masterchef contestant on her pie
Christine Ha made news of being the first blind contestant of Masterchef and went on to win the competition. Whilst competing, she was tasked with baking a pie, but lacked expertise and experience in baking due to the difficulties of being visually impaired. Baking requires sight to be able to see when dishes are rising, browning and more, and not being able to do this made Christine lose confidence in her dish. Gordon Ramsay described the visual appearance of the dish to her and encouraged her to have more faith in her abilities, moving the contestant to tears. 4. When his face was pushed into a bowl of salsa by Masterchef junior contestants
We’re terrified at the thought of even speaking to Gordon Ramsay, but these brave kids has the courage to slam his face into a bowl of salsa. Instead of reacting in a negative way, Ramsay instead joked about the salt content in the dish.
5. His Ramsay in 10 content during lockdown
During lockdown, Ramsay began doing livestreams attempting to create dishes in under 10 minutes, where we saw him freaking out trying to finish cooking in time. The livestreams gave us a glimpse into his life where we saw him being wholesome with his family, and we just couldn’t get enough of it!
