Founded 3.5 years ago by Chester, a former barista from Sydney with a background in management, Scoby Cafe began with a passion for kombucha. Chester’s journey started with selling kombucha online, and the success led him to open this charming café. Despite his initial lack of knowledge about running a café, Chester was driven by a clear vision: “If you want to go into this industry, other than just doing it, you really need to know your USP (Unique Selling Point). Knowing your USP will let you stand out in this industry and keep you going. Having one selling point is enough to make you confident and distinguish you from others. When I first started Scoby, I had zero knowledge of starting a café, but I had this in my mind: ‘I’m going to be the first kombucha café in Malaysia.’ Your dream keeps you alive.”
The name “Scoby” is derived from the Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast, reflecting the café’s focus on kombucha. Scoby Cafe is known for its artisanal kombucha, pet-friendly environment, and exceptional customer service.
