Admit it or not, working from home has never been an easy one and it has really put our self-discipline and self-motivation to a test.
It could be distractive, especially when your bed is just a few steps away from your working desk 🙁 Thus, it’s really important to set up a home office, or at least a work desk that will keep you focused and productive. Here’s how:
1. Good Support
Look for a desk that suits your height and a chair that is sturdy to support your body throughout the day. These things may seem easy to get but when it comes to the little small details like comfortability, stability and spaciousness it really needs some effort to figure it out. If budget allows, get yourself an adjustable one!
2. Good Lighting
People actually shared that having good lighting will help them to be more focused as it varies with the tone they’ve associated with relaxing. It’s similar to the concept of switching moods as you switch the tone of the lights. The gentle ambient of your lights will also help to reduce the blue lights exposed by your screens.
3. Good Coffee
Kick start your day with a good cup of coffee, they said. Can’t tapao from the cafe you used to go to? Bring a coffee machine home so you could refill your coffee mug unlimitedly in just a few press!
4. Good Audio
Having a good pair of earphones could help you to be more attentive in Zoom Meetings and Client Calls, particularly when you’re living with someone else together that will distract you away. You can also consider those with noise-cancelling features if you couldn’t bear any distraction while working.
5. Good Mood
Who doesn’t like to work in a beautiful and refreshing space? Let your creative juices flowing and place some decoration items on your desk, as simple as an aroma diffuser or fresh flowers in vases. Bear in mind this general rule, which is that it shouldn’t be too much.
Getting used to this new normal is not easy, but first, you’ll need to love it. Be resilient, be adaptive!
