The Lakehouse was built in 1966 in the southern parts of the Cameron Highlands, overlooking a reservoir, to fulfil a long-held dream of a retired British colonel to establish a bed and breakfast. The hotel opened in 1970 with a private apartment and a separate main structure for people escaping to the Highlands.

2. Cameron Highlands Resort
Cameron Highlands Resort, the interiors, which are supplemented with imposing French doors, timber-beamed ceilings, and plantation shutters interlaced with the colours and textures of Jim Thompson’s legendary Asian silks, were extended from an existing 1930s cottage with architecture dating from the 1970s.

3. Smokehouse Hotel Cameron Highlands

4. The Bala’s Holiday Chalet
This chalet, one of the oldest in Cameron Highlands, was founded in 1937 as a residential school as an outpost of Singapore’s Tanglin Trust School.
