Excelsior! Now that Disney has acquired Fox, the X-Men and Fantastic Four are in for a homecoming treat. No plans for what the future holds in bringing the larger pool of Marvel heroes into the MCU has been announced yet, but let’s just imagine for the time being on what should happen in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
1) Bringing In The Fantastic Four Through Spider-Man Films
Both Peter Parker’s home and the Baxter Building resides in New York and what better way to introduce the blue suited heroes into the MCU? The Fantastic Four films have never got the recognition they deserved over the years and now might be the chance seeing they are back home now. And with some possible ways, together they could form the Future Foundation alliance with Spidey along the journey.
2) Enter Mutants Through Illuminati
Now that we have Charles Xavier, Doctor Strange, Tony Stark if he survives after Infinity War, and a new Reed Richards possibly on the way as members of the Illuminati, the group appearance on the big screen could be the awesome way to bring in the X-Men and Fantastic Four into the fray.
3) Dr Doom As The Next Big Villain
The Avengers only has had Loki, Ultron and Thanos as the big baddies. The maniacal scientist could be the next threat to the heroes, that could follow the storyline similar to the Marvel Ultimate Alliance game. A force to be reckoned with, Victor von Doom could strike terror and wreak havoc to the Earth’s mightiest heroes.
4) The Merc With A Mouth And The Web-slinger
An adventure with Deadpool and Spidey could be one of the most wildest and comedic superhero films ever, next to Thor Ragnarok as the two could trade insults and puns while going up against an evil threat.
5) A Wider Space Adventure With Guardians Of The Galaxy
The Guardians Of The Galaxy are the gateway to a wider universe beyond Earth and who knows who or what they will encounter? Perhaps bringing in the Silver Surfer and the mighty Galactus into the fold could be the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
6) Avengers vs X-Men
In a storyline of the comics, the Avengers and X-Men have different arguable dilemma in the handling The Phoenix Force, a fallen ancient entity that resided in Jean Grey. This leads to the heroes battling each other for the greater good among themselves. I am torn between wanting Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine joining the Avengers, but after an emotional sendoff in Logan, a younger actor would be much better as Hugh Jackman has aged and won’t be playing Wolverine for long even if he agrees to a one-off appearance.
