176 is a one-stop beauty shop located at 176, Jalan Maarof Bangsar, directly opposite Bangsar. Founded by the triple J’s; Jolyna, Jean and Jady, 176 Avenue is an affordable luxury experience all under one roof. Not only do they offer an extensive array of beauty services and products ranging from beauty care to fashion, but they also provide complimentary parking! Whaaaaat.
176 Avenue’s interior showcases a lovely marble counter that greets its guests just as they walk into the building. It’s industrial-chic décor also compliments the traditional shape of the building with windows everywhere, making the salon bright and airy and giving the area a refreshed and relaxed feeling.
Once you’ve stepped in, you can head towards the salon for a hair transformation by stylist Nick Siow who has been in the beauty industry for more than 50 years. He is also led a graduate of the Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy in London, England. HAIRSOHO is chic salon that specialises in colour, texturing services, extensions, formal styling and of course, haircuts. Plus, there’s also a private room for those who want their privacy or want to host an event.
You can also indulge yourself in a manicure and pedicure session on the second floor at LASH&POLISH, which also provides eyelash extensions and waxing services. What’s epic is that you can do all of these simultaneously! This is great for those who are always on the go. The nail studio also uses vegan and non-toxic polishes from Australian cult favourites such as Sienna Byron Bay and Kester Black, which is perfect for expecting mothers, and also children! Yes! There’s a kid’s manicure area filled with soft toys and kid-sized furnishings.
On the ground floor, there’s a retail area which is stocked up with local brands such as ARIA The Label, PlushPorter, Lapiz sunglasses, Material Lipstick, Nigel Chia, PLAYNOMORE, lifestyle products from Slowly&Slowly, and also Wunderbath&Co. If you’re worried about your significant other, you can leave them to some great coffee in the garden downstairs. Their social media influencer, Zaida Ibrahim, has also stated that she loves to go there because of its “one stop centre” concept.
“I’m always rushing for time [and] hence this is perfect. I get to wax, do my nails, my eyelashes and then head down for my hair” she states. She also added that she can get everything down, from her hair to her eyelashes and to her nails done in about 3 hours, thus saving more time, rather than driving from one place to another. She also mentions that one can get the best of everything as each service centre specialises in what they do, and focus solely on it, and she enjoys the perks of a free valet service too!
