Reddit is often used as a place where people can get things off their chest without the fear of being judged, due to the anonymity of the platform. However, when things go viral, there is only so much one can do about it.
Recently, a TikTok video reading aloud a Reddit post written by Tyler Life went viral. The post was about him finding out that his girlfriend of two years did not enjoy the music he played during intimate times, and the music in fact spoiled the mood for her. This came as a big shock to him, as she had stayed quiet for the two years of their relationship.
Whilst this situation did not seem like such a big deal to much of the audience reading or watching this Reddit post, the shock came when the song was played. The song in question was Cbat by Hudson Mohawke.
The song had a strange rhythm and beat to it, and sounded far from being romantic. Many people who saw this post tried to imagine themselves in his girlfriend’s shoes, and many could not imagine how she tolerated this song for two years, especially in intimate situations but wait, the whole situation gets worse. The Redditors girlfriend’s sister came across the video once it went viral and showed it to her parents, who were traumatized as the Redditor and his girlfriend had played the song in front of them. As his name is not that common, it became pretty apparent that it was him who had written the post. The girlfriend non-surprisingly ended up breaking up with him.
The Redditor ended up doing a face reveal on TikTok and showed the world who he was, as well as other songs on his playlist. Surprisingly, the playlist got even worse with other songs such as Flosstradamus – Rollup (Baauer remix), Panjabi MC – Mundian To Bach Ke, MILKSHAKE (TRFN Remix) and BAR9 – Midnight.

Many have argued that the whole playlist is absurd and that the story must have been made up or might be a marketing gimmick. However, we choose to believe it because it’s funnier imagining the whole situation playing out.
