Last week, an elevator dropped four floors at a hotel in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
An infant was among those who had to endure the horrifying circumstance.
Kef Tan uploaded a video to his TikTok account of people ascending out of the collapsed elevator after prying the doors open. Likewise, he was among the individuals inside.
The Singaporean tourist wrote, “Can you imagine how’s the feeling of plunging down from Level 4 all of a sudden? It’s horrifying and it’s nothing like in the movies, there is no split second for you to take any actions.”
“It occurred so quickly and it was a hard stop, a complete fall in a split second! BANG!”
According to Kef, the elevator’s emergency button was inoperable, leaving the victims stranded and without assistance. People then banded together and managed to open the elevator doors by some means.
“A baby was in there too. Pitch black and the best part, the bell didn’t work. Handphone zero reception! 10 minutes seemed like forever in there until everyone agreed to forcing (the doors) open!”
In the displayed video, victims could then be seen climbing through the forcibly opened doors to exit the elevator that was stuck between levels.
