Otakus, rejoice!
Great news Slam Dunk otaku fans! The popular Japanese shōnen manga that highlights competitive high school basketball will be brought back into circulation after being suspended for several decades.
This announcement was posted just recently on the mangaka’s Twitter page – where he posted some glossy images of his unreleased material that he had been working on to tease us.

Takehiko Inoue, the creator of Slam Dunk, is most notable for creating the basketball genre of the long-running manga series. Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1990 to 1996, the popular manga series has expanded into distinct multimedia franchises including toys, figurines, and anime.
Firstly launched in 1997, this latest edition, ‘PLUS/SLAM DUNK ILLUSTRATIONS 2’ includes more than 130 illustrations that are drawn by Takehiki himself in the past and used for other publications.
Moreover, there are even 11 more new illustrations created just for this compilation in order to spark joy and reignite fan’s enthusiasm towards the original manga.
