From groovy house tunes to African tribal, to techno beats to minimal electronic sounds, all the way to vocals, retro, or funk, Yenn Lim got it all with her fantastic mix tape.
Hi Yenn! Share more about yourself to our readers!
I’m an outgoing person who enjoys socialising because by meeting different people, not only do I get to share/exchange experiences, I get inspired by people’s life stories too!
What inspire you to be a DJ?
During the days when I was a party-goer, I felt inspired seeing how a DJ can influence so many listeners and hype up the crowd just through the music they played.
Tell us your journey as a DJ! When did you first discover your passion for music?
My passion for music started since I was young, I remember begging my mum to bring me for piano lessons after hearing my parents playing classical music records. I also picked up singing and guitar as hobbies. I took up DJ-ing in 2011 and initially treated it as a hobby. However, it has grown into my passion and I’ve enjoyed DJ-ing ever since.
Describe to us your music style.
I guess there is no fixed style in my music as one of my biggest interests in DJ-ing is exploring and discovering new elements to be put into a mix set. A typical set of mine would normally consist of different elements, from groovy house tunes to African tribal, to techno beats to minimal electronic sounds, all the way to vocals, retro, or funk.
