Coffee has become a must to most of us, especially during this period. It somehow serves as an energy booster for us to work from home.
Indeed, studies explored that coffee could actually boost up our mood and also enhancing memory retention. But, do you know that overtaking coffee or tea that both contains a high level of caffeine will harm your body? If you are a huge coffee addict, here are the things that you should know about:
1. Anxiety
You might think that coffee can make you stress-free, but in fact, it’s not! Studies proved that caffeine will prevent your body from being tired and generate more Adrenaline that will increase your body energy. It might sound great but bear in mind, people need rest to get rid of stress and constantly working will make you feel more anxious and stressed. High energy ≠ stressfree.
2. Insomnia
Bet this is not the first time you hear that, taking too much coffee will lead to a sleeping disorder. However, to get rid of it, you may adjust the timing of caffeine or lessen the amount you consume. Studies explored that caffeine can at least stay in your system for 1 ½ hour to 9 hours depending on your body.
3. Diarrhea
Stop drinking that morning cup of coffee! Replace it with a cup of warm water instead. Coffee attributes to the release of gastrin and consuming too much coffee will lead to diarrhea, bloating, loose tools or even worse which is GERD (stomach acid fluids back to esophagus) which is a huge harm to your digestive system.
Taking care of your body health should always be your priority. Just in case you’re not familiar with caffeine, things like black tea, soda drinks, chocolate bar and even candies also contain a high level of caffeine. It’s not that you can’t take it AT ALL, but just consume it mindfully. #kitajagakita
