PM Anwar set to reshuffle Malaysian cabinet Today
In his first leadership shuffle since assuming office a year ago, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is anticipated to announce changes to his cabinet on Tuesday, December 12.
According to The Star, which cited “highly placed” sources, “several ministries” could be impacted by the cabinet reshuffle, and “several senior MPs who had previously served as ministers” may return.

It also said that some MPs might become ministers for the first time.
Federal ministers will be sworn in at the Istana Negara at 2:30 p.m., according to the Bernama news agency.
The report, citing sources, stated that during the ceremony, the new cabinet members will also receive their individual letters of appointment in addition to taking the oath of office, loyalty, and secrecy.
According to broadcaster Astro Awani, there will be “more than six people involved” in the reshuffle, and some ministers will “swap portfolios.”
A new Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living is anticipated to be announced by him to succeed Dr. Salahuddin Ayub, who passed away in July from a brain haemorrhage.
Johari Abdul Ghani, a member of the United Malay National Organisation (UMNO), was previously reported by The Star to be a potential candidate for the position of second finance minister, prompting further conjecture from the local media. As of right now, Mr. Anwar is the Finance Minister.
During the administration of former premier Najib Razak, Mr. Johari, a member of parliament for Titiwangsa, held the position of second finance minister from 2016 to 2018.
The Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change, as well as the Ministry of Human Resources, are rumoured to be under review by Mr. Anwar.
