1. Harimau Malaya
First and foremost, the attention has to go to our local heroes, the team that rocks black and yellow with pride. The Harimau Malaya fan club began in 2007 to show support towards the growth in local football. Don’t expect to get football updates here however, as it is more community based than media. Discussions and ideas on the other hand, are fully appreciated. But they are pretty active when it comes to informing their page followers by re-sharing local football content onto their page alongside admin opinions.
2. Manchester United Malaysian Fans Club
MU is big in Malaysia which explains the massive following on the MU Malaysian Fans Club’s social media accounts. Not limited to just Facebook, they have a running website as well as Twitter, making this a legitimate fan club authorised by the Manchester United FC in the United Kingdom. Membership prices go as low as RM30 for students and RM300 for VIP, where fans are eligible to receive perks and even discounts for an official Old Trafford Trip depending on their membership status.
3. Chelsea Fan Club Malaysia
On the blue side of things is Chelsea, and its Malaysian fan club that takes pride in the team’s history of winning seven of the biggest trophies in football, called the magnificent seven. For a club that was born only in 2012, the Facebook page is active with in depth analysis of match happenings (though mostly in Bahasa Malaysia). There’s no stopping those who have blue blood in them, that’s for sure.
4. Arsenal Fan Club Malaysia
The local fan club may have started in 2011, but despite its lower following count, Arsenal fans are some of the most charismatic as proven by the page’s admin who keeps followers up to date with Arsenal news and player fun facts. Similar to Chelsea MY FC, most information is uploaded in Bahasa Malaysia but that is how most local FC’s stay local. The Arsenal FC Facebook page has also been regularly updating on Alexandre Lacazette’s entry into the team.
5. Manchester City Fan Club Malaysia
Just like the Malaysian MU FC, the Manchester City FC has a running website that isn’t just fast with news, but allows newer fans to learn about the list of player names when scrolled down to the bottom. It might be an unofficial FC for Manchester City, but the admin is quick to post updates in categories such as media, photo gallery, and so on, making them a trustworthy FC for loyal fans.
6. Football Association of Malaysia
Have always wanted to be more involved in local football? This is a good place to start as they are always in the loop when it comes to the little happenings of Malaysian football. Being an official page for anything ball related in the country, you can count on them for where the hot matches are happening or news about state football. With the SEA Games coming up, expect some regular updates on the event here as well.
