As if you need any more reasons to love them, cats have been known to be extremely useful for stress reduction, a great reason to play with them even more now over a cup of tea or coffee and friends.
There’s been a rise in cate cafes in the country lately, so we thought what better way to celebrate the existence of these kitty havens by compiling a list of popular cat cafes you can check out the next time you head out.
1. Purradise Cat Café @ TTDI
Price: RM15 per hour inclusive of one drink
What’s cool: Cute and fluffy cats that have different types of personality (many are rescued kitties). The interior is also very cosy, maintaining good vibes for both the felines and guests. It’s not widely known as of now but guests are allowed to bring their own cats as well.
2. Kopicat Café (formerly known as Coffee Cottage) @ SS15
Price: A beverage purchase entitles you to an entry into the cat room
What’s cool: Rather than having the cats roam freely while guests are eating and mingling, there’s a separate space for the kitties that’s actually very clean (barely any smell). The cats are slightly on the lazier side but feel free to pet them and be patient while they’re sleeping.
3. Café & Cat Garden @ Seri Kembangan
Price: Entrance to cat space with purchase of food and beverage
What’s cool: Unlike most upscale cafes that serve coffee, pastries and meals, Café and Cat Garden is a place one can actually eat a hearty meal with family. The cats are kept in a separate space that’s properly maintained, so guests can see them roam while having a meal on the “human section” of the café.
4. Good Meowning Café @ Cheras
Price: RM6 per person for 30 minutes of playtime
What’s cool: Reasonably priced if you know you won’t be spending hours cuddling with a cat. They also offer pedigree cats which is quite a treat so expect fluffy cats for a good petting sesh. Food is also quite good according to reviews by some users, who enjoyed both the curry mee and laksa Kedah.
5. Panda Pet House Café @ Shah Alam
Price: RM10 minimum on food and beverage
What’s cool: It’s a very laidback and casual setting here at Panda Pet House Café, and food is served from a chiller, not kitchen. With that being said, cats are only available after 1pm. However, Panda Pet House is not only a simple café for cat lovers but is also a pet shop where owners can get a pet hotel for as low as RM15.
