It’s hard to focus after coming back from a long break especially just after recently celebrating Chinese New Year.
This is even worse for those who work in the office as they would start daydreaming halfway after work, wanting to leave the office ASAP. But here are a few ways to increase your productivity and stop procrastinating on things.
1. Stop multitasking and focus on one task!
It’s hard to complete a few tasks at once, maybe just focus on one and get it done before you move on to the next so you can focus better. Multitasking would make you lose focus and drift away which would decrease your performance at work.
2. Take break, have a rest
Working too much wouldn’t be good for you, it’ll drain your energy even faster, you’ll lose focus. So, take a break, go get some snacks and pour yourself a drink! You’ll be able to recharge and freshen up. Having a 10 minute break would make you feel better.
3. Reply to fewer emails
If you spend too much time replying and sending emails, it’ll drain your time. Try to set a time to reply to some emails unless it’s urgent. Replying to too much email would make you feel tensed out. Respond to the emails that need a response.
4. Create a list to stay focused
If you have too much to do and you don’t know which task to focus on first, create a list on your laptop or grab a sticky note for you to write down the tasks you need to complete by the end of the day and select the important ones to finish first. When taking a break, you can look at the list and decide on which one to do next after completing a task.
5. Remove distractions
Living in a world with too many distractions is hard. It’s so easy to grab your phone and scroll through Facebook while you can, but it’s best to avoid it. Keeping your eyes on the laptop would be so much easier if you put your phone on silent and avoid putting your phone on the table. Distractions would delay your work!
6. Keep your workspace clean and tidy
If your table is too messy, it will distract you. Keeping your desk organised would be better so you won’t play with the loose objects on your table. Instead of having your own mobile phone, keep your business phone (available through EATEL) next to you so that you can call clients instead of scrolling through your social media.
