No, I’m not talking about the hot beverage. “Tea” in modern terms can mean more than just a drink, it is commonly known as the latest gossip or a juicy information. There are many ways to use “tea” a simple example in a sentence is “spill the tea?” as in “what’s the gossip?”. So, the next time you’re in need of the latest news, simply ask for the “tea”.
2. Throw Shade
This term is most widely used on twitter, commonly used after an insult has been thrown at someone. “Shade” simply means insult. “Girl, she just threw shade at you!”which simply translates to “Girl, she just insulted you!”.
3. Glow Up
Glow up isn’t just sticks that bend and glow in the dark, in modern terms a glow up is simply an upgrade or a transformation. This term is popularly used on Instagram and Twitter where a person usually shares two pictures side by side, one their younger picture and one of their current picture accompanied with the caption “My glow up”.
4. Exposed
Have you ever shared an information about someone without their consent? Well, then you’ve exposed that person.
5. Beef
Modern beef doesn’t describe a type of meat, but it’s a situation when someone has a conflict with another person. The term “Beef” can be found on gossip media outlets which is closely related to the modern term “tea”.
6. Salty
No, it’s not a condiment that you put too much into your cooking. Salty is to define someone who is passive-aggressive towards someone or something.
“He was salty after losing the game!” which translates to “he was angry after losing the game!”
