Everyone needs therapy. Even if you think you don’t need it. 🦋
There is much awareness on mental health in recent years. But, there’s still a stereotype that you need to be “crazy” to do therapy.
You may be mentally in a healthy space, but we’re all messed up in some way. You are not alone. We all have trauma, some-in fact-are still unresolved. You may not even be aware of it.
Therapy helps. Therapy works. It may sound silly to sit in front of a person to cry, rant, talk about your problems in life. You might have friends and family to do that with. But what happens when they’re the cause of your trauma? We all need someone that’s unbiased and uninvolved in our life to point out areas in our life that need improvement.
When therapy doesn’t work for you, most of the time it’s because the therapist is not right for you. Just like buying a new shirt, you’ll need to shop first. “Therapy shopping” is a thing. You’ll need to find a therapist that shares a similar cultural background and belief as you to make your sessions to be smoother.
Everyone needs therapy. ✨ The end goal of it is not so much about coming out feeling “better.” The goal is to be aware of your trauma and be ready to change. Being aware of your trauma is already a HUGE leap because some people unfortunately are still oblivious of theirs. That’s why everyone needs therapy.
With therapy, you’ll change to accept others and yourself. 💛☘️
