Back when we were kids, school breaks meant sleeping in and taking a break from learning things we might’ve hated. As an adult however, school break means it’s time to catch up on things we can’t do because we’re occupied with work, work, and work.
These are a few recommendations by us on how to have the most chill school break session before the season is over.

Go On a Road Trip
Go local and have an amazing road trip around the country with your loved ones! We take our country for granted but Malaysia is truly one of the best places to travel because of the amazing food and culture you’ll experience in different states. Lazy to drive? Take the train or fly across the ocean to east Malaysia!
Sevenpie’s pick: Penang for amazing food, Pulau Kapas for a private beach getaway, and Sarawak for some of the oldest rainforest in the world.

Netflix and Chill
Gone are the days when we need to wait for our favourite series to air the next episode. It’s all about that streaming life now! And it’s not just limited to Netflix but many other streaming services as well. Take your pick and binge watch all the shows you’ve been hearing all about. It’s good when you lose track of time 😉
Sevenpie’s pick: Narcos, Mr. Robot, Game of Thrones, and American Horror Story.

Read All Day Errday
If you’re like me (who buys books in bulk and never has the time to finish them) then you should totally catch up with all the reading you’ve missed out on. Even though books are portable and you can practically read them anywhere, nothing beats the comfort of reading in your own bed with a nice cup of tea.
Sevenpie’s pick: Michael Faudet if you’re into poetry, Chuck Palahniuk if you are into graphic stories, and anything by Candace Bushnell if you enjoy chick lit.

Café or bar hopping around the city
There’s always something to do in Klang Valley and one of them involves trying out all the cafes and bars around the neighbourhood because why the hell not? With ladies night almost every Wednesdays and Thursdays as well as discounts via deal sites like Groupon, you can easily go all out without breaking the bank!
Sevenpie’s pick: Blue Elephant for pretty cocktails, The Fish Bowl for awesome Poke Bowls, and Common Man Coffee Roaster for a super chill coffee session.

Attend live shows and gigs
You’re missing out on a lot if you don’t check out the musicians within the country. Plenty of venues around the city host parties, music events, and open mics that you can check out because these people are not only talented, they’re also a great way to spend time with you friends while showing support to the local music scene.
Sevenpie’s pick: Alexis, The Bee, and Merdekarya.
