1. Hello! Hearte, it is so great to finally meet you, could you give us and the readers a brief introduction about yourself in general?
I’m Hearte from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I’m 18 and currently studying Fashion Styling in Raffles College Kuala Lumpur.
2. Your fits have been spotted by many and we just can’t get enough of your OOTDs, how would you describe your outfits?
I would say cool, experimental, statement-making and clean with details. My outfits are always accessorised with necklaces, earrings, rings and hair accessories. I’m a shades person, my outfit pictures without a pair of shades is kinda incomplete. I love layering outfits with blazers, denim jackets and vests but the weather recently in Malaysia is not being kind to me.
3. What would you say inspires your sense of fashion?
In my opinion, fashion inspirations come in the most unpredictable way, whether in the form of art, photograph, film, music, or life experiences. Inspirations can derives from various sources and sometimes it just pops out nowhere. It’s about how you perceive things. In essence, always be observant of surroundings, explore beyond your comfort zone also have that mindset of no prejudgement nor presumptions towards foreign or fresh things, places and people.
4. We heard that you are a very shy person, how would you say that your outfits has expressed your personality and character?
I love to experiment with artistic pieces, bold outfits and unique styles when styling. For instance, color blocking, multi layering, statement accessories, blending with a few styles to name a few. My outfits caught an eye of passerby all the time.
5. When did you start getting into your current fashion statements?
Since I was 12, I was influenced by my elder sister. We spend our leisure time styling outfits, take cool fit pictures and share them on Instagram. We share our opinions and ideas about fashion with each other. We spending years to explore the style that is second to none for us. Figuring out the cut, color and elements that flatter your figure and express your personality is important. Next is defining your own style. With your own style, it will make up your appearance together with the mood you express and boost your self-confidence. Bear in mind, wear only what you fancy and comfy with, they help us to be seen in the light that we wish to be, and also exude our personalities and social status.

8. We know that you’re a fashion student, what’s exciting to you about the fashion industry?
One of the most exciting features of the fashion industry is that there is endless inspirations and art. There are so many aspects of fashion are quick-moving and ever-changing, which provides a lot of opportunity for new ideas. Trends are constantly created and re-created and fashion changes as quickly as the seasons, the industry is completely fuelled by creativity.
9. The local fashion scene has made waves in the recent years, as a local young fashionista, how do you think the fashion industry can improve?
These days, it has become a challenge to wear a garment for a few years even wearing the same outfit starts to seem taboo cause of the rise of fast fashion. Countless new collections per year make us feel constantly out of date and encourage us to keep buying more. The quality of garment is declining every year. As a result, our clothes immediately look faded, shapeless, or worn out. Trends are changing so quickly that we cannot keep up. We constantly purchase just to stay up to date. Just after the oil industry, the fashion industry is the world’s second-largest polluter. And as the industry grows, the damage to the environment is growing. An alternative to fast fashion is thrift stores. Thrift stores let you explore diverse styles. It is like going on a treasure hunt. Fashion is cyclical, and designers often try to mimic the looks of different decades. While shopping at thrift stores, you might explore some genuine vintage pieces that was actually made in the decade that’s coming back into style.
