You might’ve heard about this YouTuber before, so let’s get up close with local content creator, Joseph Germani!
Hello Joseph! Tell us more about yourself!
Hi! I’m still the little kid who watched a lot of TV when I was young, and I loved the idea of being an entertainer since, and I still do. So now, being a YouTuber, I treat it as a platform for me to be an entertainer. However, I’m proud myself of being a YouTuber.
When did you first discover your passion for creating content on YouTube?
Hmm, let’s see. It was because I was doing a casting video to be on a business web series by Nokia. Yes, Nokia. You’d know how long ago it was. So I did the video, shared it on my Facebook, got a lot of love from friends, so I decided to post that up on YouTube, and the rest is history.
You’re currently uploading videos very regularly – tell us more about that!
I wish I could tell you that it’s much easier. I’m still trying to adapt to that new form of creating videos daily. It’s quite hard, especially when something comes into your life that you have to attend to, it sets you back. But I’m definitely creating more content that I used to, 2-3 vids per week now. And comparing to a couple of months ago, it’s definitely a progress!
How are you inspired to create content?
Feelings. It really depends on what hits me hard on that moment, what excites me, what topics that are being talked about that I care about.
Describe your YouTube persona.
I’d say that my YouTube persona was and is still me. And if you look at my YouTube channel, I’ve tried a lot of things, like vlogs, rants, music videos, short films, skits, I’m like a style ‘prostitute’ I change according to what I am at that very moment.
As a YouTuber yourself, what do you think about the local YouTube scene?
During the first few years, there weren’t a lot of local YouTube channels, but after attending some YouTube workshop for smaller channels, I realized that there’s so many new channels that are working hard! I love it! Our YouTube scene should definitely grow, and COLLABORATE more so that our scene gets more exciting.
What is a typical day in your life?
Wake up tired from last night’s late sleep, eat, play with my dog, watch YouTube content and share them with my girlfriend, try to think of what video to do next, write it down, play with my dog again, and browse through YouTube. I spend a lot of time on YouTube.
What kind of software do you use to edit your videos?
Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, my computer is very old. It’s 6-7 years old I think? But it still works like a charm.
Do you have any idols?
Yes, but then again, me being me, it changes. For one period of time, all I watch was a gaming YouTuber from America, and then it changed to a sneaker YouTuber, and then for one period of time all I can care about was Pewdiepie. And now, I’m just floating around looking at good contents that pops up on my YouTube feed.
Any advice for aspiring YouTubers out there?
Be who you are. Or at least discover who you can be. Why Pewdiepie is so famous was because he discovered what he can be on YouTube, and until today, it still seems like he’s the same person.
Since you are dreaming anyway, might as well dream big.
What is the ideal weekend for you?
Movies, Cleaning, A couple of hours of gaming, A couple of hours of board games and beer with my dear friends and family.
Tell us what makes you smile the most?
My girlfriend, Alicia and my daughter dog, Bambee. And reading my YouTube comment section!
Where do you see yourself in 2 years’ time?
I hope to see myself busy juggling time between my YouTube channel, family & friends, and my clothing label.
Any life mottos?
Since you are dreaming anyway, might as well dream BIG!
