Mechanical engineering Johor-born student took Malaysia to the skies with this outstanding achievement recently at The Telegraph STEM Awards 2019.
Somewhere far away in the depths of United Kingdom, a 22-year-old, Johor-born student is busy assembling sophisticated microchips and machinery, which subsequently has landed him to the winning idea of the prestigious Roll-Royce STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Awards 2019.

Currently a 3rd Year student at University Southhampton, Yew Jun Ying brought his winning entry to the skies by introducing a new way of heat management in aircraft through the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) technology. But what was truly impressive is that this was his first-ever entry to the competition!

The award has opened many doors for Jun Ying, including an internship at the industrial technology pioneer, Rolls-Royce, and a mentorship programme with The Telegraph on business and intellectual property.
