Have you ever joked about going to school by helicopter during your school days? Well it is not a joke now. A parent recently took a step that was a little too big by sending his child to school in a helicopter.
In April of this year, a video depicting a helicopter taking off from a field went viral on social media, but it has recently resurfaced after PDRM responded to the issue. Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, the police chief of Shah Alam, stated that the incident occurred on April 17 at Bukit Bandaraya Seksyen U11 in Setia Alam.
Iqbal said that the police investigated the matter after they received an official report from the Head of the Internal Security and Public Order Division of IPD Shah Alam regarding the matter.
“The case is classified as Refer Other Agency (ROA), and it will be referred to the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) for further actions,” Iqbal said in a statement yesterday (June 13).”
The helicopter landed for approximately 15 minutes on a field near Setia Eco Park, and in addition to the viral video, the image of the father with his child just outside the helicopter spread across social media.
According to a separate Kosmo report, it was not the first time that the same helicopter had landed in the same location.Prior to the April incident, it had occurred once before, but none of the adjacent residents were able to document the occurrence.
At the time of writing (June 14), CAAM has yet to respond to the matter. You can watch the viral clip below.
There are always rules and regulations that we’re expected to follow when it comes to flying an air-travel vehicle and landing it in public space, as it may affect the safety of others. We shall wait and see what CAAM has to say about this matter.
